Many people ask why I took time off from singing. The simple answer is that I had to for health reasons. Sometimes life throws you in very unexpected and challenging ways and I recently wrote about it for leading online parenting and family magazine MyBaba. I am delighted to be doing a chamber recital singing Schubert’s Der Hirt auf dem Felsen together with clarinettist Melissa Brice in January 2019. Proceeds go to the Princess Alice Hospice in Esher.

After some time off following the birth of my son, I am happy to be singing in my native Sweden again together with tenor Andrew Bain and the Torsten Östergren Wienerensemble during December 2017 and January 2018.

It was with great sadness I have had to pull out of all my recent singing engagements as well as of Carmina Burana in July this year. I am expecting my second child, but due to pregnancy complications I have been put on bedrest.

 

 

  • 23rd September 2013 – Another New Role in 2014

 

Marzelline in Beethoven’s Fideliois my next role to learn. I was asked to do it earlier this year, but wasn’t available. The opportunity has come again and I am excited to learn it. I love getting my teeth into a new character both musically and dramatically. Once again, this is for The New London Opera Players. More information to come.

 

 

  • 3rd July 2013 – Gala Concert 5th September 2013

 

I am proud to let you know I will be singing at a gala concert on Thursday 5 September 2013 at 7.30 pm with tenor Andrew Bain in Chelsea Old Town Hall, King’s Road SW3 5EE.This concert is in aid of the Cheyne Charity for children with Cerebral Palsy and JDRF – type 1 diabetes. Tickets are only £30, and all proceeds go to these two fantastic charities.   • 24th June 2013 – Carmina Burana in July 2014

 

Bearsted Choral Society will be putting on an abridged version of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana on Saturday 19 July 2014 at 7.30 pm and I will sing the soprano solo for them. I sang Elgar’s The Kingdom for them this March and am very excited to have been asked to return for this concert.

We had our first performance of La Boheme two nights ago and it was so much fun! There will be more performances during autumn 2013. I don’t yet know which ones I will sing, but I will let you know as soon as I know myself.

  • 8th March 2013 – A New Singing Teacher

 

I am very excited to tell you that I have started having lessons with the fabulous tenor and wonderful teacher Ryland Davies. He is incredibly inspiring, full of wisdom and insight.

I will do a New Year’s concert tour of southern Sweden with Torsten Östergren Wienerensemble and tenor Andrew Bain at the end of December 2013 and start of January 2014.

 

 

  • 21st October 2012 – A New Oratorio

 

On 23rd March 2013, I will sing The Virgin Mary in Elgar’s oratorio The Kingdom in Bearstead, Kent. This will be the first Elgar for me and I am very excited.

  • 24th January 2012 – A Song Recital on Sunday 26th February 2012

 

On Sunday 26 February 2012 at 4 pm, I am doing a song recital together with clarinetist Melissa Brice and pianist Michael Brownlee Walker. We are doing some lovely repertoire by Debussy, Ravel, Spohr including Schubert’s famous Der Hirt auf dem Felsen. This takes place in St George’s Bloomsbury and tickets can be obtained on the door.

  • 11th October 2011 – Another Production As a Producer

 

After the great success of Dioneo‘s performances of The Emperor of Atlantis by Viktor Ullmann at the Arcola Theatre in Dalston in August 2011, I have been asked by Fusebox Productions‘ co-Artistic Director Sandra Martinovic to produce Jake Heggie’s UK premiere of For a Look or a Touch at the King’s Head Theatre in Islington, London, this November with the amazing Duncan Rock. The second half of the programme will include a semi-staged collection of songs by American composers sung by internationally acclaimed bass-baritone Jonathan Lemalu, accompanied by Michael Hampton.

I have been asked by the company Dioneo to co-produce two performances of The Emperor of Atlantis by Viktor Ullmann at the Arcola Theatre for the Grimeborn Festival in Dalston (E8) on 17th & 18th August 2011. This is something very new to me and quite exciting.

The March performances of Diva Opera’s two performances of Die Fledermaus – Party Scene were so successful that we have been invited do them again in December 2010. The first one will take place in Boodles Club on 2 December, and the second on will be in the Royal Albert Hall on 8 December. The performance in the Royal Albert Hall will be with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, José Carreras, Bryn Terfel and others.
